Attracting the Laws of Attraction

law of attraction

Post Internet drama, Elijah and I have been struggling a bit with thinking positively about our current financial situation.  We do have work coming in, but trying to catch up with all the bill payments we have missed is a daunting task.  Focusing on a plan of action is hard, because we’re trying to do so many things at once.  The chaos is terrifying and exhilarating all at the same time.  Elijah came to me the other night with a potential movie to watch for the evening, “Beyond the Secret“, a motivational film outlining the steps to benefiting from the Laws of Attraction.

The movie itself was kind of corny, but the concept intrigues me.  I’ve heard about the Laws of Attraction before, but never really delved too deeply into the topic.  Eli and I are very big believers in the mind/body/spirit connection, so we’ve decided to make a conscious effort to employ the Laws of Attraction.  We’ve starting meditating twice a day and focusing on positive outcomes.  It hasn’t been easy for me, since I have a tendency to worry and fret.  But I must say that I have been pretty good for the past couple of days.

For anyone else (I’m probably the last.) unaware of the theory, it is that the Laws of Attraction are Universal Laws that are based on the energy of the earth and of us as human beings.  Basically, by focusing your energy on your desires or dreams, you are manifesting them into reality.  But it goes both ways; focusing your energy on negative outcomes or scenarios can attract those as well. By simply knowing what you want, asking the universe for it, visualizing your self with it and allowing change, we can achieve any goal or dream.  In terms of science, there are those who don’t believe it is possible for one to transmit their energies,  yet others argue the laws of Quantum Physics, which teaches that nothing is fixed, we and everything on this planet are vibrating balls of energy have limitless possibilities.

(This is my basic understanding of Quantum Physics and the Laws of Attraction.)

I figure that because we have a lot to turn around, it is easier to focus on smaller, more attainable goals.  Obviously I want to get caught up with our payments, so I envision myself paying the bills and having money left over.  Simple and yet such a happy thought . . . sigh.  We haven’t noticed any dramatic change so far, but that can be expected since we only started talking about this a couple days ago.  (Although Eli did receive a random $25 out of the blue tonight.)

I’m really excited to get my mind and body on the same page, they’ve been at odds with each other for a while now.

There really can’t be any negative outcomes . . .

because I won’t be thinking about them.

Stay Classy,

Veronica

  1. I have the same feeling as you about ‘The Secret’ which I got as an audiobook. I imagine it’s similar. I thought it was corny, but I got so much out of it. And my boyfriend is really getting into Quantum Physics and the moment, and it does seem like it could have a scientific basis as you said. I haven’t specifically worked on it like you are though, but weirdly I’ve been thinking about it for the last few days so maybe I’ll start. Good luck to you! Even if it doesn’t work directly, positive thinking and believing in yourself is never a bad thing.

  2. One of my favorite preachers talks about people who complain about not having enough faith. She always says “Can you worry? That’s faith! It’s just faith in the wrong things!”. 😀 She also interviewed a neuro scientist who talked about how thoughts are actually physical things- when you have a thought (a strong thought that you dwell on) it grows this tree like thing in your brain. A negative thought will grow a sickly looking thorny kind of tree, a positive thought will grow a healthy tree-like tree in your brain.

I won’t get into the whole thing here, but basically she was talking about how you really can control your thoughts- you just have to do it deliberately. I know that’s not quite the same as The Secret, but it does kind of go hand in hand, doesn’t it? Her name is Dr Caroline Leaf and her book is Who Switched Off My Brain? if you want to see more about it. It’s more about how your brain works and how to train your brain to be positive, but… similar idea in practice if not theory. 🙂

  3. @Anand – Even though we’ve only been meditating for a few days, I already feel the difference. It’s amazing how just taking some time to stop thinking is so beneficial . . . like time-outs in pre-school. 🙂

@Ruth – It just makes sense, everything is energy. Believe me, I’m just getting started and trying to work it all out. If I can figure out Quantum Physics maybe I can figure out WordPress! (I had a moment this morning.)

@WV – When I first started researching the topic, it almost sounded like a scam, but when you think about it, positive projection can’t go wrong . . . I like the image of a nice tree growing in my brain. Thanks for the book title, I’m going to look into that!

  4. I strongly believe in the Law of Attraction. thoughts are real and they are energy that create the universe. But changing thoughts and images and beliefs are not that easy. good luck

  5. Good to hear you guys are staying positive. It is a trying time for everyone. Keep pushing, good things happen to good people. I am still naive enough to believe that.

I am taking my attraction to the next level and will be doing a Dream Board. Don’t know if you are hip to this concept, but it is just visualizing with the implementation of taking pictures of your future goals and placing them on a large board and keeping it in front of you.

Seems to work as everything that I have accomplished I have written down and day dreamed on consistently. Got away from that the last few years after we bought our home and all that stuff. I got content.

Well, I am hungry again, so let’s get it!

Good luck to you, keep moving, attracting and CRUSHING IT!

  6. I love the Secret! Amy and I loved the concept so much, we both enrolled in the UNIVERSITY OF METAPHYSICS doctoral program (one year program)! It’s the same school that Joe Vitale went to!

Everyday (mostly) we do our homework like good little boys and girls!

  7. @Laurie – It is definitely not easy. I’m finding it really hard to re-train my brain. I also my negativity creeps up cloudy days and it’s harder to fight it off.

    @Freddie – I did a Dream Board too! (I called it a Vision board, same difference.) I’m intrigued by this crushing . . .

@Ian – What kind of topics are covered and is it available online?

  8. Everything in the universe are made of the same material including us humans. If we wish for something, it is immediately created, but first in our minds. If we want to it to manifest into reality, we must be focused on the present moment to catch the opprotunities to make it real. Most people live in the past and in the future that they don’t see the abundance right before them. 🙂

  9. We in preset are the residual outcome of the past thoughts or attractions. In other words we in present are the manifestation of our past or recent thoughts or attractions.

  10. There is a great book about the laws of attraction but is simple the title I hate to not mention the author but it was by some doctor. But i am a firm believer in the laws of attraction. When you are always centered and have positive attitude people notice and attract to that.
