T Edwards! Well I would like to welcome you to our site and thank you very much for taking the time to speak your mind - it's why we do what we do. I'm 27, so I am definitely within the first generation of children born into the "information age" as I like to call it - but being an 80's baby I had the advantage of growing up lower/middle class with books rather than computers. My fantasies and virtual life was in books, and drawings I would do.

Your son represents a huge portion of the population, and it worries me for the generations after them. Teens in 2008 generally have very poor social skills, the mumble when they speak, they are unable to explain themselves properly when asked to elaborate, and rather than books they have cell phones, ipods, text messaging, and video games.

When Veronica and I have children, I will be laying some serious regulation down just as my mother did, and control what and how information is inputted until they hit their teens... From there it's just hoping that the foundation I've laid prevails above the corruption!!!

There are tons of ways to utilize social networking as professionals, such as you or I, but it's really really bad for the kids and the unemployed!

Hello Elijah
Sweet Jesus! Someone finally recognizes these social networking sites for what they've become! My teenage son spends HOURS on MySpace accomplishing absolutely nothing. It has become some kind of refuge for him to lead a fantasy life and pretend that all of these "hot chicks" actually dig him! He's become so socially addicted to his "virtual life" that he now nuts up when it's time to talk to a REAL girl! If there were actually some legitimate networking going on I'd be all in but as it stands it's just another tool that we use to further separate ourselves from healthy physical activity. I have a theory that MySpace was created by aliens decades ago. That explains why they all have little atrophied bodies and big fat heads.
